Thursday - July 3, 2008

Registration and Team Practices begin. Registration will be held at the Mayo Civic Center (30 Civic Center Drive SE) and Team Practices will be held at the National Volleyball Center (2601 Viola Road NE). All team members and coaches must be present at registration. Team Pictures will also be taken during the registration process. Team Practices and Registration will be assigned randomly. (Practice & Registration Schedule) Players may participate in a "Hot Shot" Contest before or after their team's practice time. Coaches Meeting begins. One representative from each team is required to attend this meeting. All coaches are encouraged to attend. The tournament director, AAU Commissioner and others will share important information concerning the event.

Staging for Opening Ceremony begins. All teams are asked to report to the Mayo Civic Center Auditorium. The "pin exchange" will take place during this time. Teams will line up to be introduced alphabetically by AAU District

Opening Ceremony begins in the Mayo Civic Center Arena. Teams will be introduced alphabetically by AAU District. Teams will walk in together with a team banner or sign. Once all teams are introduced everyone will be welcomed by Rochester/Minnesota VIP's. The top 10 "Hot Shot" Contestants will shoot off for the "Hot Shot" Title during Opening Ceremony.

Player Party begins in the Mayo Civic Center Riverside Park (located just outside the Mayo Civic Center Arena. Snacks and refreshments will be provided for all tournament participants. Music and Entertainment will be provided as well.

Saturday - July 5, 2008

Pool Play begins.

Minnesota Twins host the Cleveland Indians at the HHH Metrodome. Tickets and transportation are on your own but please ask tournament committee members for any assistance that may be needed. Enjoy major league baseball in Minnesota!

Pool play continues. At the conclusion of the day the brackets will be set.

After the games all teams and fans are welcome to enjoy Rochester’s popular Down by the Riverside free concert. Offered at Mayo Park (same place Opening Ceremony picnic was held) the concert starts at 7:00 PM. Enjoy the music of National recording artist Blue Oyster Cult on this evening.

Bracket Play Begins.

Enjoy some outdoor wood bat baseball at the Rochester Honkers host the Thunder Bay (Canada) Border Cats at 1:05. It is “Kid’s Buck Day” so all those 12 and under get in the game for only $1. Mayo Field - just a short walk from the Mayo Civic Center, provides a wonderful venue for some great baseball.

Bracket Play Continues.

Check out the Minnesota Lynx as they host the Atlanta Dream at the Target Center in Minneapolis. Lead by 2006 Rookie of the Year Seimone Augustus and Rookie Candace Wiggins the Lynx are hot!
