3rd Annual Mayo Wrestling Association Takedown Club Scramble - July 23, 2010 Wanted: Athletes Interested In Participating In The Winter Sport Of Wrestling! For many years, the Rochester High School wrestling coaches have been involved in coaching all levels of wrestling. They have worked with athletes from pre-K aged youngsters to high school seniors. They have worked with programs sponsored and run by Community Education, youth clubs, middle school programs and within their high school team. This coming season will be no different. Three non-profit wrestling clubs are established in Rochester. They each serve a different geographic area of Rochester, based on current Rochester Public High School boundaries. There is one club for athletes who reside within the boundaries of John Marshall High School, one for Mayo HS and one for Century HS. Currently, Lourdes HS has a wrestling co-op with John Marshall HS. Other private or home schooled athletes are welcomed and encouraged to participate within their public school boundary. All programs are looking for brand new wrestlers, as well as experienced wrestlers. We would encourage athletes of any age to try the sport. Registration takes place in the fall, as wrestling is a winter sport in Minnesota. The youth (grades pre-K to 6th) season generally begins after Thanksgiving and ends before Spring Break. The HS season generally begins in mid-November. 7th & 8th graders may participate with their HS program or Middle School program. Please contact the wrestling coaches listed below with any questions you may have, especially if you are unsure of your HS boundary and which program you should register with. You may also want to contact your club to be added to their e-mail list to receive news, updates and reminders. John Marshall/Lourdes Wrestling Mayo Wrestling Century Wrestling |
